The RHH Wellington Clinics project is provision for 5000m2 of new specialist clinics adjacent to the Royal Hobart Hospital and connected via a new Air Bridge. The clinics include purpose designed accommodation for Pharmacy, Orthopaedics and Fracture Clinics, Burns Unit, ENT, Audiology, OMFU and other specialist suites. These clinics were previously scattered ah-hoc throughout the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The new facility provides an unprecedented heath planning model to respond to new models of care, within a high quality work environment, to deliver optimum health outcomes for Tasmanians. The interior environment is fresh, contemporary and non-institutional, with patient-focused design.
The design incorporates extensive use of natural light and views, high quality timber finishes with coordinated way finding and contemporary artwork by Tasmanian artists.
The Air Bridge has timber ceiling panels with feature walls as markers at either end of the walk to seamlessly link the new and the old.
